  • Four years, or 8000 hours, of on-the-job training
  • 643 hours of related classroom instruction
  • 40 hour work week
  • Pay starting at $9.00/hour

Program Overview

Apprentices learn level by level, beginning with the basics of equipment use and electrical construction and progressing to complex electrical wiring systems. Most training takes place while you're on the job.  Limited self-study and classroom instruction reinforce hands-on skills and prepare you for level-by-level assessments.

Our program is organized around your success:

  • A permanent transcript tracks progress across entire program
  • Certificates of completion awarded for each level accomplished
  • Program completion certificate awarded
  • Preparation for state licensing exam
  • Journeyman Electrician "career in hand" with completion

Why an Apprenticeship Program?

Developed in response to a growing, industry-wide need for a skilled workforce, the electrical apprenticeship program fills a gaping hole in today's market: paid positions that provide the skills you need through real-world work experience.

We "in-source" our workforce, ensuring consistent employee knowledge and quality, preparing them for careers at Cooper and equipping them with a versatile, nationally recognized skill level that sets them apart from the crowd.
